Vietnam
Vietnam is a long, narrow-shaped country located on the far eastern edge of southeast Asia, commonly known as Indochina. Vietnam shares borders with China to the north, Laos to the west and Cambodia to the southwest.
The people are friendly, the culture is rich and the cuisine is exquisite (a blend of Thai and Chinese styles) with some dishes also having a French influence (think Bahn Mi rolls). Escape out of the exceptionally crowded cities of Ho Chi Minh (formerly Saigon) and Hanoi and that is when the real adventure happens. There are wonderous and mysterious mountainous areas throughout, dense forests and waterfalls plenty.
Due to the country spanning more than 1600km, the weather varies greatly between the northern regions to the south. That being said, th best time to visit Vietnam would be between March and April when there is less rainfall and the temperature is most pleasant.
